Newcastle United owners PiF could explore takeover deals in France to expand their multi-club network.
That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that PiF will be eager to explore European investments to expand their ownership portfolio.
As revealed by Football Insider, Newcastle are set to spearhead a new multi-club project with PiF currently scouting new takeover opportunities in Brazil.
The Saudi-Arabian group own four Saudi Pro League teams as well as Newcastle, but they are expected to start a multi-club network similar to Manchester City's City Football Group.
Uefa recently declared that Manchester United and Manchester City can play alongside their sister clubs in European competitions.
Borson believes Newcastle's owners will now target a takeover of a European club with opportunities available in France and Germany.

"I think PiF are bound to look at European opportunities and also bound to see some valuable opportunities there as well," Borson told Football Insider.
"Because the European game - while we think we've got problems in England - France right now still do not even have a TV deal.
"They're talking about having to do the deal themselves and so clearly clubs outside of PSG, Marseille, Lyon and Monaco will have some severe issues in terms of paying the bills.
"So there will be takeover opportunities in France, as there will be in Germany too.
"We’ve seen some very big clubs suffer financial issues in Germany so there will be opportunities there too.
"There won’t be bidding wars that you might get with some Premier League clubs."
