Demba Ba has suffered a horrific leg break while playing for Shanghai Shenua in China - and football fans have immediately taken to Twitter to wish him well.

The Senegale striker played in the Premier League for West Ham, Newcastle and Chelsea between 2011 and 2014.

Ba was playing in his side’s Chinese Super League clash with Shanghai SIPG on Sunday afternoon, before being forced off through injury following a collision with Sun Xiang.

Ba is currently the league’s top goalscorer, having scored 14 goals in 18 games so far this season.

The 31-year-old move to China from Besiktas in 2015, who he joined from Chelsea who he scored seven times in 34 league appearances for.

Of his Premier League clubs he was most successful at Newcastle, where he scored a bumper 29 goals in 54 appearances.

Suitably, fans of his former clubs have wished him well but many worry that this could be the end of his injury plagued career.
