Mathieu Flamini has been training alone at Arsenal, according to his former team-mate Thierry Henry.
The club's record goalscorer, who shares an agent with Flamini, revealed how his former team-mate had been frozen out after pulling out of a summer move to Galatasaray.
But Flamini scored both goals as Arsenal beat Tottenham 2-1 in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night after being selected for the first time this season.
Speaking about the performance at White Hart Lane of  Flamini, Henry told Sky Sports:  "He had the right edge, the right commitment. Tonight it's about him. I'll give him his credit, he's been training alone, on the side, sometimes, because he's not involved with the team he stays with the fitness coach.
"He can see some light at the end of the tunnel tonight. Normally, in any team he would have been playing on Saturday but because you're at Arsenal the competition is really hard."
Henry, who is taking his coaching badges at Arsenal, believes Flamini could force his way into contention for a place in Arsene Wenger's team outside of the Capital One Cup.
"Maybe he can be playing some time alongside [Francis] Coquelin," said Henry. "He showed he can still play for Arsenal. He played really well tonight.
"He's a great professional. He played his season out there tonight."
