Mesut Ozil set a new Premier League record when he created the equaliser for Kieran Gibbs in the north London derby. Ozil's right-flank cross for Gibb's goal in the 1-1 draw was the sixth consecutive Premier League match in which he had recorded an assist, breaking the previous record of five. It also extended his lead at the head of the Premier League assists summit. Ozil has now supplied 10 assists from 11 Premier League matches in 2015-16, including eight in his last six games, which put the Arsenal man ahead of Manchester City's David Silva (six in five), Leicester's Riyad Mahrez (five), Everton's Gerard Deulofeu and Norwich's Wes Hoolahan (five). Moreover, no player has produced more than Ozil's 24 Premier League assists since the German joined Arsenal in the summer of 2013. He maintained his excellent run of form at Emirates Stadium today even though the Gunners were largely outplayed by their bitter rivals for much of the match. Ozil is in his best run of form since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 for a club-record£40million fee.
