The future of Paul Heckingbottom at Leeds is under fresh doubt after a series of "unproductive meetings", according to a report.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claims that Heckingbottom was close to being sacked in Spring but that he'd seemingly earned a reprieve.

However, that looks in doubt again after the YEP claims talks with Andrea Radrizzani after the controversial Myanmar tour didn't go well.

The report names four candidates that have been linked to the job – Filippo Inzaghi, Claudio Ranieri, Michael Laudrup and Jaap Stam.

Football Insider verdict:

There has been so much conjecture and so many names linked with Heckingbottom's job over the past few months that it's alsmo impossible to see how he can be in the job at the start of next season. It sounds like Andrea Radrizzani is desperately trying to find a better alternative, having lost faith in the manager who's only earned four wins in the 16 games he's been in charge. That's a terrible record. And, despite calls for the squad to be overhauled this summer, no new players have been brought in yet. Of course, that could be down to negotiating behind the scenes and the fact that most business is completed towards the tailend of the transfer window. But it could also have something to do with the uncertainty of the manager's job. If Leeds are going to get someone else in, they need to get it right, do it quickly and back him with cash. Otherwise it's not going to be an enjoyable season for Leeds fans.
