Nicolas Pepe 'has no future' at Arsenal as £47m loss on the cards - expert
Arsenal “paid over the odds” for Nicolas Pepe and must accept a hefty loss on their investment this summer, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Gunners and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 26-year-old has “no future” at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta.
Pepe has struggled for game time this season and has not started a Premier League match since October.
According to The Sun (25 April), Arsenal are willing to let the winger leave if they receive an offer in the region of £25million.
Such a deal would represent a £47million loss on the £72million paid by the London club to secure Pepe’s signature in August 2019.
His contract at the Emirates expires at the end of June 2024.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Pepe’s future, Campbell said: “Arsenal paid over the odds for him.
“It has just not worked out. It is that simple. He is a talented player, that’s for sure. But it has not worked out for him.
“You see the intensity and focus that Mikel Arteta wants the team to play with. I don’t think Pepe fits into that. He is a drifter. He will concentrate for a bit and then drift out again.
“I said just before Christmas it was a big few months coming up for Pepe. It was going to determine whether or not he had a future at Arsenal. Well, he doesn’t have a future at Arsenal.”
