Nottingham Forest could be forced to sell Murillo this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking in the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Reds may have to sanction player sales amid uncertainty around their profit and sustainability.

It is believed that "a lot of clubs" in England and across Europe are keeping tabs on the centre-back after his exceptional campaign at the City Ground.

He moved to Forest for a reported £15million from Brazilian side Corinthians last summer, but sources have told Football Insider that the Reds would expect to fetch a "huge profit" if he is sold this summer.

Nottingham Forest star Murillo set to depart after just one season?

The Brazilian has been a mainstay for Forest this season having started every game in the Premier League since his arrival.

While Forest have had their struggles on and off the field this season, most recently their four-point deduction for a PSR breach, they have a strong squad filled with high-value stars.

They are expected to sanction player sales by the 30 June, the date clubs must file their financial accounts, meaning several first-team stars could leave.

Morgan Gibbs-White could also be sacrificed, with Football Insider revealing (1 April) that Tottenham and Newcastle United will have to pay upwards of £50million if they want him this summer.

Nottingham Forest sit 17th in the Premier League table after their 2-2 draw against Wolves on Saturday afternoon (13 April).

They are next back in action against 16th-place Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon (21 April).
