Nottingham Forest have multi-million cash boost confirmed as Europa League prize money revealed
Nottingham Forest have landed more than £3million in prize money after securing their place in the Europa League semi-finals.
The Premier League club have enjoyed a hugely successful return to European football, having reached the final four of a Uefa competition for the first time in 42 years.
Forest secured a 2-1 victory on aggregate over Porto in the quarter-finals following their 1-0 win in the second leg at the City Ground on Thursday (16 April).
Vitor Pereira’s side will now take on Aston Villa for a place in the Europa League final against either Braga or Freiburg in Istanbul.
Forest banked an extra £3.7m in prize money for reaching the semi-finals, while making it through to the final would boost their overall total significantly.

In terms of how the numbers break down, each team will receive a guaranteed £3.8m for playing in the Europa League this season.
Meanwhile, Swiss Ramble reported Forest would earn £5.8m from Uefa’s value pillar system, which is split into European and non-European segments based on their coefficient ranking and the market pool.

Clubs were awarded £392,000 for each win and £131k per draw in the league phase, meaning the East Midlands side banked just over £1.8m after claiming four victories and two draws from their eight fixtures.
Each team competing in the Europa League also earned an additional amount based on their individual ranking in the league phase, with Forest landing £1.6m for finishing 13th.
Qualifying for the knock-out round play-offs and making it through to the last 16 was worth £2m, while progressing to the semi-finals has added an extra £5.9m to the Reds’ total.
It means Forest have so far raked in £20.9m in prize money from the Europa League this season.
How Europa League success can mitigate Nottingham Forest’s revenue dip
If Pereira’s side can overcome Villa and reach the final, that would add a further £6.1m to their total.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Forest could mitigate their anticipated dip in revenue by winning the Europa League this season.
The Reds are facing a significant drop in Premier League prize money after underperforming in the top flight.
They currently sit 16th in the table, three points above third-bottom Tottenham on the back of finishing seventh last season.
Forest published their accounts for 2024-25 last month, showing their revenue increased from £190m in 2023-24 to £222m, marking a new club record.
