Nottingham Forest told to complete Aaron Ramsey signing after club announcement - pundit

Nottingham Forest should gamble on the signing of free agent Aaron Ramsey despite his persistent injury issues.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s future.

Juventus confirmed on 26 July that Ramsey’s contract had been terminated a year early.

The 31-year-old spent the second half of the 2021-22 season on loan at Rangers, where he made 13 appearances and scored two goals.

However, his spell may be best remembered for his missed penalty in the final of the Europa League, costing Rangers the penalty shootout against Frankfurt.

Kenny claims Forest need players who can make a big impact” in the Premier League and insists Ramsey could o that if he stays fit.

“He has Premier League experience but for me, it’s whether you can keep him fit,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

I saw somewhere that it worked out he was playing five or six games a season for Juventus.

“It’s not double figures. It’s alright getting him and shelling out a lot of money but it’s whether you can keep him fit.

“Forest need players who will come in and make a big impact. I think Lingard will, Ramsey is a tough one but if they can get him for the right money then why not? Take a gamble on him.”

Ramsey previously played for Forest on loan during the 2010-11 season.

He made five appearances in the Championship.
