Morgan Gibbs-White: Social media post fuels Nottingham Forest whispers
Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White appears to be moving house in news that has fuelled rumours surrounding his future.
The 26-year-old has been frequently linked with a move away from the City Ground this summer after enjoying a fantastic season.
The midfielder scored 18 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions, but was inexplicably snubbed for England's World Cup squad.
Gibbs-White has just two years remaining on his contract at Nottingham Forest, after going extremely close to joining Tottenham last summer.
Any potential exit will be for a sizable fee, however, with the Tricky Trees determined to hold out for their asking price.
The sale of Elliot Anderson has already proven their resolve, with Manchester City eventually forced to pay a guaranteed £116million.
Social media post fuels different Morgan Gibbs-White theories
Many assumed that not making the England squad would see Gibbs-White push to leave Nottingham Forest this summer.
The 26-year-old could not have done more to impress Thomas Tuchel, and he may well believe that a move to a more competitive club may be the route to the European Championship in 2028.
Manchester United are among the clubs who have reportedly considered a move for the midfielder so far this summer, but any concrete movement is yet to materialise.
However, a post from Gibbs-White's partner, Britney De Villiers, has prompted some uncertainty.
The story, posted on Instagram, featured moving boxes and a caption that read: "I forgot how stressful it is to move house".
Some fans have interpreted the move as a potential indication of Gibbs-White preparing for a transfer away from Nottingham Forest.
However, others have taken the opposite reading. Should the 26-year-old be moving now to a home within Nottingham, it would suggest that there are no plans to move again this summer.
Gibbs-White development hints further at change
On Friday, it was reported that Gibbs-White has signed with ROOF as his new agents.
Agent changes are often merely to do with finances and regular change, more than anything else.
But sometimes, a player can choose to change their agents in pursuit of a move away from their current club.
While Gibbs-White is yet to make his stance clear this summer, this week's developments will certainly not dampen rumours linking him with a move away.
