Nottingham Forest supporters are furious after reports emerged that Vitor Pereira could leave the club in a shock development.

The 57-year-old moved to the City Ground last season and guided the club to Premier League safety.

On top of this, the Tricky Trees reached a Europa League semi-final under his reign before they were knocked out by Aston Villa.

Yet, despite this positivity, his future in the Forest dugout looks uncertain going into the 2026-27 campaign.

This has angered much of the fanbase, who thought the club was finally stabilising under Pereira.

Forest had four managers throughout the 2025-26 season, and could soon make yet another change in the dugout.

Fans accuse Nottingham Forest of being ‘amateurs’ amid potential Vitor Pereira departure

Evangelos Marinakis has never shown concern about sacking a manager at Forest, but if Pereira is dismissed, it could be the most surprising decision yet.

The 57-year-old has had a solid start to life at the City Ground and has won 40 per cent of his games in charge.

Therefore, when Fabrizio Romano reported that Pereira could soon be out of the door, Forest fans did not take this news lightly.

Many have gone to X to criticise the club and Marinakis, labelling them as “amateurs”, as Forest face yet another search for a new manager ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Should Nottingham Forest sack Vitor Pereira?

On the face of it, sacking Pereira would be a stupid decision.

The manager got Forest playing some really good football, and did exactly what he was tasked to do in keeping the club in the Premier League.

However, looking deeper, the decision may not be that ill-informed.

Pereira has a track record of not lasting long in jobs, and his reigns often collapse.

This was seen at Wolves last season. After successfully guiding them to safety in the 2024-25 campaign, a dire transfer window saw them effectively relegated when he was sacked in November.

However, the timing of this news is what will sit sour in many fans’ mouths. Pre-season is about to get underway, and a dismissal would interrupt this.

On top of this, many potential transfer plans may have to be scrapped, ready for the new manager.

However, it remains to be seen what Forest and Marinakis choose to do over the coming weeks.
