Nottingham Forest ‘doing everything’ to stop Gibbs-White joining Tottenham
Nottingham Forest could offer Morgan Gibbs-White a new contract to ward off renewed interest from Tottenham, sources have told Football Insider.
Gibbs-White has been one of the Premier League's standout playmakers over the last 12 months at Nottingham Forest.
He was a top target for Spurs in 2025, but they were unable to get a deal done as Evangelos Marinakis accused them of making illegal contact with his representatives.
The 26-year-old signed a new three-year deal following the saga, but doubts emerged over his future in the recent window after he changed agents in August.
Tottenham are still interested in his services, but as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Forest will stand in the way of him leaving in both of the next two transfer windows.
Roberto De Zerbi is under pressure in North London after a poor start to the campaign, with the club set to explore the transfer market for some new arrivals in January if their struggles continue.
Nottingham Forest have no plans to part ways with Morgan Gibbs-White
Gibbs-White is the leading Premier League goalscorer in 2026 alongside Erling Haaland, having netted 13 times since the start of the calendar year.
He has been handed a late call-up to the England squad for their upcoming Nations League fixtures after the likes of Cole Palmer and Marcus Rashford pulled out through injury.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Tottenham's interest still remains in Gibbs-White, but Nottingham Forest are in a strong position.
"They have tried to sign him before in the past, so it doesn't surprise me that they are continuing to keep tabs on him, but I'm sure Forest will do everything they can to keep hold of him long term."

While managerial problems persist at Tottenham, things are no different at Forest following their own slow start to the campaign.
They have won just one of their opening six games across all competitions, with sources telling Football Insider that Glasner could be sacked anytime soon by owner Marinakis.
He is one of the leading bookmakers' favourites to be the first manager in the PL to be sacked this season, with Forest facing his former club Crystal Palace after the international break.
