Nottingham Forest face irresistible Morgan Gibbs-White bid 'they can't turn down'

Nottingham Forest are more likely to allow Morgan Gibbs-White to join Paris Saint-Germain rather than Arsenal this summer.

Vitor Pereira's side are extremely reluctant to lose the 26-year-old, but could accept if they are forced to do a deal or made an offer they cannot refuse.

Despite interest from Arsenal and a number of other Premier League rivals, however, Forest would prefer to sell the England international abroad.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Nottingham Forest could let Gibbs-White join PSG to avoid playing against him next year.

The Champions League winners are believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation, and any move may be difficult for Forest to turn down after a poor season.

Despite being hopeful of keeping hold of the midfielder, there is also a feeling he could be lured away as he aims to play at the highest level.

Could PSG make a move to sign Morgan Gibbs-White?

Brown told Football Insider that it may be impossible for Nottingham Forest to keep Gibbs-White given the level of interest from elite clubs this summer.

After narrowly avoiding relegation and missing out on European football, there is a feeling the midfielder could be tempted away by clubs in the Champions League.

Despite Forest's reluctance to entertain any offers as things stand, a move to PSG would be preferred over Arsenal, giving the French giants a boost in their pursuit.

"Nottingham Forest don't want to sell Gibbs-White wherever he goes," Brown told Football Insider.

"But it's not always as easy at that, when these top clubs come calling, they could be put into a difficult position where he wants to leave or they feel they have to sell.

"A club could come in with an offer they can't afford to turn down, you never know, and in that case they will have to weigh up their options.

"If PSG are interested in him, you would have to say that would be his most likely destination, because Forest will want to sell him outside of the Premier League if they can.

"That way, they won't have to come up against him next season and they can avoid strengthening a Premier League rival.

"But as I said, they ideally don't want to sell and there's a lot of water to pass under the bridge until we can say they'll let him go, whether it's to PSG or anywhere else."

What is Nottingham Forest's updated stance on Gibbs-White?

Nottingham Forest have been firm in their stance over their key players this summer, and are not prepared to let them leave for anything less than their asking prices.

As they have already shown this summer, they plan to be tough negotiators, as they are holding out for a British-record fee to sell Elliot Anderson to Man City.

Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider on 8 June that Gibbs-White will cost a "huge" fee to even entertain talks, with Forest planning to block any incoming offers.

Pereira is determined to keep his best players at the club long-term, and with speculation growing around Anderson, he will not let both players leave.

Instead, Forest are prepared to do everything in their power to keep Gibbs-White at the City Ground, despite the rising level of interest from rival clubs.
