Nottingham Forest fans are loving the business the club is doing after a £17.1million offer was submitted for Feyenoord talent Givairo Read.

Reports have emerged that the Tricky Trees have made a second improved bid for the 20-year-old right-back this week.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue if the Dutch club choose to accept the package.

Upon the news breaking, many of the City Ground faithful were extremely excited by the news.

Forest previously saw a £15m bid turned down by Feyenoord earlier in the window as they look to capture the rising star.

Ola Aina is currently the East Midlands side’s first-choice right-back, and Read would likely add extra depth to this position.

Who else are Forest looking to sign this summer?

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Forest are prepared to make a bid for Jean-Philippe Mateta this summer transfer window.

The France international has been one of Crystal Palace’s best players in recent years, and has been a crucial cog in the club lifting three major trophies over the past two seasons.

However, Forest will only make a move for Mateta if they believe a deal is possible with the Eagles.

The striker was close to sealing a move to AC Milan in the winter window before the deal collapsed at the last minute.

Palace may feel pressure to sell Mateta due to the attacker’s contract expiry in 2027, meaning that the club could lose their star striker for nothing.

However, it remains to be seen where Mateta will be playing his football throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
