Nottingham Forest supporters have come to love Ibrahim Sangare, but they may now have to watch him leave as interest ramps up this summer.

The 28-year-old experienced a tough first couple of seasons at the City Ground, failing to live up to the £30million price tag from when he arrived from PSV Eindhoven in September 2023.

Fast-forward three years, however, and the Ivory Coast international has become one of the most important players for the Reds, creating an unstoppable partnership with Elliot Anderson.

Forest's transfer chiefs will have a task on their hands to improve the current squad, but if Sangare were to leave ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, Vitor Pereira's entire midfield could be ripped apart.

Besiktas are readying an offer for Ibrahim Sangare

According to Takvim (13 May), Sangare is at the top of Besiktas' transfer list ahead of the summer, wanting to replace former Leicester City star Wilfried Ndidi with the Forest man.

It is understood that the Turkish giants have already made contact with the player's representatives after those behind the scenes spoke seriously about aiming for his signature in the coming months.

Besiktas are wary of the potential transfer fee, but with Sangare hugely admired in Istanbul, the club are prepared to push for him, being expected to submit an offer to the Premier League side at the end of the season.

Undoubtedly, supporters at the City Ground would want the 28-year-old to stay with the Reds ahead of next season, but it remains to be seen what the player wants from his future right now.

Nottingham Forest star also attracting Premier League interest

Given his ability in the Premier League, many would suggest that a move to Turkey would be a waste for the midfield star, who still has years ahead of him at the City Ground.

With that in mind, Football Insider understands that Man United are keeping tabs on Sangare, though Forest remain in a good position after securing safety in the Premier League.

Had the Reds been relegated to the Championship, a fire sale would be expected at the City Ground, and Sangare undoubtedly would have been one of the first to depart.

Anderson and Murillo could both depart either way, but holding onto Forest's No.6 is likely to make a key impact during the 2026-27 campaign, depending on who partners with him.
