Nottingham Forest 'join' race for Lois Openda as departure demands are revealed
Nottingham Forest are on the hunt for a new striker this summer, and have been linked to Lois Openda.
The Belgium international spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan to Juventus, but struggled to impress for the Serie A giants.
Nevertheless, the Old Lady are set to sign the 26-year-old for nearly £35million due to an obligation to buy in the contract.
Now, it is reported on 5 June that Nottingham Forest are looking to end his torrid time in Italy as they aim to improve their attack this summer.
Forest struggled up top in the Premier League this season and lacked a consistent goalscorer as they found themselves dragged into a relegation battle.
Juventus will allow Lois Openda loan deal
Tutto Juve explain that Juventus are happy to allow Openda to leave the club on loan this summer.
The Old Ladies’ objective is to recoup a significant portion of their investment and avoid a significant capital loss.
As a result, Forest could agree a loan with an option or an obligation to buy as they look to improve their attacking options.
Openda had previously been a top player for RB Leipzig, but his form has completely dropped off a cliff this season.
However, if Forest can get him firing once again, he could prove to be a bargain signing at the City Ground.
Who else is linked to Openda?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Openda is open to a move to Leeds United this summer.
Daniel Farke’s side have been heavily linked to the attacker as he explores his options ahead of the summer transfer window.
Openda and his camp are searching for a move that would provide him with regular football, and sources have indicated that he will have a wide range of potential suitors after his previously strong record at RB Leipzig.
The Belgian managed 33 goals across two campaigns in the Bundesliga, and is hoping to find the right environment to help him return to that form next term.
However, it remains to be seen if he will find his form and make a move to Leeds, Forest or elsewhere with the transfer window set to have plenty of twists and turns this summer.
