Nottingham Forest target Dodo intends to “explore his options” as a free agent next summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Reds still have the Fiorentina right-back on their radar after links in the summer, but a move for him is no longer a priority now that they have Daniel Munoz.

Barcelona are keen to try and sign Dodo when his contract expires, while top Serie A sides like AC Milan and Napoli are also keen to try and secure his signature.

Recent reports have suggested that Fiorentina are keen to cash in on the Brazilian in January, but sources say the player would prefer to leave as a free agent next summer.

Dodo made 36 appearances in Serie A last term, and has already turned down several offers of a new contract from Fiorentina.

Forest have continued to keep tabs on his progress after their summer interest, but are unlikely to make a move for him at this stage.

Daniel Munoz has solved Nottingham Forest right-back issue

The addition of a new right-back was a top priority for Forest in the recent summer window, and they eventually got their man in Munoz.

The East Midlands outfit secured the Crystal Palace star for a fee of £22million, and he has quickly regained his position as a firm favourite of Oliver Glasner.

Munoz is understood to have settled in well at the City Ground, and has gone straight into Glasner’s starting XI following his arrival in the East Midlands.

The Colombian is now vastly experienced in the Premier League after excelling across his two-and-a-half-year stint at Selhurst Park, and has also caught the eye for Forest so far.

He missed just seven minutes of action for the Reds in the two games prior to the international break, and is expected to pick up where he left off when they return to action this weekend.

Liverpool and Chelsea join race to sign Nottingham Forest player

Liverpool and Chelsea join race for Murillo

Football Insider revealed last weekend that Liverpool and Chelsea have now joined Manchester United in the race to sign Murillo.

The Forest centre-back has been on the radars of all the Premier League’s leading clubs in recent years, and the interest in services has flared up once again of late.

However, sources say that Forest are under no pressure to cash in on the 24-year-old, and will not entertain any offers that come in for him in January.

The Brazilian made 24 appearances in the Premier League last term, and will be a key piece of the puzzle once again for Forest this time around.
