Sources: Omari Hutchinson has no way back at Nottingham Forest after decision made

Nottingham Forest will still sell Omari Hutchinson if AC Milan don't trigger their option to sign him permanently, sources have told Football Insider.

The Italian giants have the option to buy the loanee for £42.5million, but the Reds have no intention of reintegrating him into the squad if he returns.

The 22-year-old was one of several players that new boss Oliver Glasner didn't see a use for ahead of this season, and he won't go back on that call.

Sources say that Forest will explore every option to sell Hutchinson next summer, but their preference is for Milan to take up their option.

However, the Englishman hasn't impressed at the San Siro so far, and was substituted at half-time during his first start for them last week.

Forest also have no intention of recalling the wideman, and are using his loan spell as a route towards a permanent sale.

Forest had high expectations for Hutchinson when they signed him from Ipswich for £37.5million, a fee which made him their record signing at the time.

However, just one year down the line, they have already shown a desire to move on again permanently.

Glasner's desire to operate with wing-backs has reduced the need for out-and-out wingers in the squad, and he did not believe that Hutchinson was a good fit for one of the two attacking midfield roles.

Morgan Gibbs-White, Dan Ndoye and Callum Hudson-Odoi were all deemed to be ahead of him in the pecking order, and as a result, it became clear that Hutchinson had no future at the City Ground.

The same fate has also befallen Dilane Bakwa, who was loaned out to Lille, and Forest aimed to transform their squad to fall in line with Glasner's style.

Oliver Glasner could be sacked 'at any moment'

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Glasner could potentially be sacked by Forest "at any moment" in the coming months.

The Austrian is already under pressure from fans after a rocky start to the campaign, especially given he is on a hugely lucrative contract at the City Ground.

Brown pointed towards the "volatile" nature of Reds owner Evangelos Marinakis, and feels that Glasner's tendency to be "combative" with those above him is a recipe for trouble.

The ex-recruitment man does not believe Forest are considering Glasner's future at the moment, but that stage may not be too far away if results don't improve.
