Man United are continuing talks with Bayern Munich over a deal to sign Noussair Mazraoui, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke explained that United are making progress in their efforts to sign a new right-back as Aaron Wan-Bissaka is likely to leave.

However, the deal to sign the 26-year-old is currently on hold until a deal for Wan-Bissaka's exit is completed, with West Ham in talks to agree a deal.

Sources say the full-back has given the green light to a move to East London but a deal worth £15-20million has yet to be agreed.

Man United continue Noussair Mazraoui talks after Aaron Wan-Bissaka twist

Mazraoui joined Bayern from Ajax in 2022 and has since made 55 appearances for the German club, although he has struggled to nail down a starting place.

The Morocco international played 29 times in all competitions last season, providing four assists as the club endured a shock trophyless year.

Erik ten Hag has been keen to bolster his defensive depth this summer, with the arrival of Leny Yoro the first piece of the puzzle.

Mazraoui would become the latest player to have worked with Ten Hag at Ajax to make the switch to United, joining Anthony, Andre Onana and Lisandro Martinez.

However, the deal will hinge on the club being able to move on Wan-Bissaka as talks with West Ham continue to move forward.

Man United

United are looking to build on their disappointing eighth-placed finish last time out, off the back of winning the FA Cup against Man City.

Mazraoui is viewed as the next step towards bettering their situation, and Ten Hag is keen to push the move through in the coming weeks.
