Nuno-Kane feud outlined after shocking Tottenham reveal - pundit
Kevin Campbell is stunned by the lack of touches Tottenham striker Harry Kane has had in the opposition box this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League forward attributed part of the blame to Nuno Espirito Santo following the “very strange” decision to play Kane, 28, out wide for periods against Chelsea.
As revealed by Whoscored (September 20th), Liverpool defender Joel Matip (11) has had more touches in the opposition penalty area than Kane (10) this term.
Kane has been widely criticised for his performances in the Premier League this season after a summer dominated by transfer speculation.
Manchester City failed with two bids in excess of £100million for the England captain, who was desperate to make the move.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his reaction to Kane’s surprising stats, Campbell said: “It can’t be right.

“Something just isn’t working and you have to question why. Is it because he isn’t getting in the box? Is it because his teammates aren’t creating chances for him or is it because his head has gone? It is probably a combination of the three to be honest with you.
“It looked like he was going to leave in the summer. Daniel Levy dug his heels in and Kane has stayed.
“There is a new manager there now, does Kane get on with Nuno? Has he been asked to do anything different. There were times in the game against Chelsea where he was out wide and I was thinking, ‘What is he doing there?’ You have got to question that.
“He’s probably thinking to himself, ‘I don’t fancy this. I’m England’s number nine. What am I doing out wide?’ It was very strange.”
