It was confirmed earlier today that Rangers have tabled a £4million bid for Swansea striker Oli McBurnie – and bookies across the board have reacted by slashing the odds of him hooking up with Steven Gerrard this summer.
Alan Nixon, the Sun’s transfer expert, has confirmed that the bid was placed by Rangers on his personal Twitter page.
Two leading bookies have both made Rangers odds-on to sign the prolific striker, who scored nine goals in his last 17 games at Barnsley.
SkyBet have him at 10/11, with Leeds next in line at 10/3, while BetVictor have him even shorter at just 1/2, with Leeds all the way out at 6/1.
It all seems to point to McBurnie becoming the next big signing for Steven Gerrard, with deals for Martin Skrtel and Harry Wilson also being linked strongly today.
