Aston Villa have been installed the favourites to sign prolific Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Bet Victor have slashed the price on the Midlands giants signing Abraham, 19, before 3 September to 4/1 from 8/1 earlier in the week.
This makes Villa the joint favourites with Premier League club Middlesbrough to land the forward, who has made a huge impact this season during a loan spell at Bristol City.
The duo are ahead of a slew of big clubs in the race to land Abraham, with Leicester priced at 5/1, followed by Galatasaray (6/1) and Newcastle (8/1).
London-born Abraham has emerged as one of the outstanding young strikers in English football after scoring 25 goals from 45 matches in all competitions for Bristol City this season.
The teenager’s haul of 22 league strikes makes him the second-highest scorer in the Championship, behind only Leeds’ Chris Wood.
The England Under-21 international looks like being the major reason behind Bristol City staying in the division.
Abraham is highly rated teenager by his parent club Chelsea, but the competition for places at the Premier League leaders is extremely fierce.
He has a contract with the west Londoners that runs until 2019 and there is a possibility he could push for a permanent transfer in the summer window.
Villa have signed two £15million forwards from Championship rivals in the last two windows, Jonathan Kodjia from City and Scott Hogan from Brentford.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, talks are to get underway as a proven Premier League performer wants to join the Midlands club.
