Odds slashed: Everton made favourites to sign Manchester United first teamer (not Schneiderlin)

By Alex Stevens

Everton have been installed as the favourites to sign Manchester United star Daley Bind.

The Holland international had his odds slashed to 2/1 by betting company Sky Bet on Sunday morning to make a sensational move to Goodison Park.

He is considered more than two times more likely to be at Everton than at any other club next season, with Sky Bet making him 5/1 to join Arsenal and Barcelona.

The narrow favourite for Blind’s club at the end of the summer transfer window is United, who are priced at 6/4 to keep the versatile Dutchman.

Everton are set for a major squad overhaul this summer, with new manager Ronald Koeman handed a transfer kitty of £100million.

Blind, who can play at centre-back, left-back or in central midfield, was a mainstay of the Premier League giants during Louis van Gaal’s two-year Old Trafford reign.

The 26-year-old started all but three United games last season in central defence and was the regular partner of Chris Smalling.

But his future has been plunged into doubt following the arrival of new manager Jose Mourinho and the arrival of Eric Bailly.

Nevertheless, Blind will report for pre-season training at Carrington next week and he has publicly said he is “ready” for the upcoming campaign.

Everton have also been linked with a move for Blind’s club colleague Morgan Schneiderlin, who had a mixed debut season following his £24million move from Southampton last summer.

In other Everton transfer news, the Merseysiders are braced for a bid that will double their club record transfer fee.
