Stoke City have been installed as the new favourites to sign Chris Wood from Leeds United, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet price Mark Hughes’ side as 5/2 favourites to land the Championship leading scorer before the summer transfer window shuts.
The odds have tumbled on Stoke pushing through the deal after reports on Friday that the battle for Woods’ services will be worth £20million this summer.
West Ham are second favourites at 7/2 to sign Wood, ahead of Premier League rivals Swansea (9/2), Southampton (7/1) and West Brom (14/1).
The massive change in the market come after the Sun reported Leeds are facing an uphill task to hang on to their star striker and “it would be a major surprise if he was not playing in the Premier League next season”.

Everton had been the previous favourites to sign Wood at 4/1, but they are now no longer strongly linked by Sky Bet.
Top-flight quartet West Ham, Southampton, Swansea and Stoke are are well aware of the scoring exploits this season of the striker, who topped the second-tier scoring charts with 27 goals, and plundered 30 in all competitions.
The Sun report that the New Zealand international is valued at £20million by Leeds as they aim to secure top money for their prize asset.
He made the three-man shortlist for the Championship player of the season before missing out to eventual winner Anthony Knockaert of Brighton.
Like Knockaet, Wood also struggled for game time at previous club Leicester but he has made a big impact at Leeds since joining for £3million in the summer of 2015.
The forward has two years remaining on his Elland Road contract.
