Omar Marmoush: Aston Villa set sights on deal to sign ‘big-money’ Man City star
Omar Marmoush remains a target for Aston Villa ahead of the summer window as he moves closer to leaving Manchester City.
Marmoush has failed to impress this season despite making a real impact in his first six months at Man City last term.
The Egyptian forward was close to leaving the Etihad Stadium in January, but neither Villa nor Spurs were able to complete a loan deal before the window ended.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, the Villans are among the Premier League clubs eyeing a move ahead of the summer.
Villa’s transfer plans are set to be given a huge boost if they qualify for the Champions League this season, and they will fancy their chances of landing Marmoush ahead of the competition.

Sources have told Football Insider that City don’t want to sell Marmoush this summer, but he could force an exit after struggling for game time this season.
The 27-year-old has only started seven league games up to now, with several top-flight sides in England and abroad eyeing a move for his services if he is allowed to leave.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “There was a bit of interest in Marmoush in the January window from a few clubs.
“Aston Villa looked at it before they signed Tammy Abraham, and I’m sure there’ll be clubs at home or abroad who would be looking at the Egyptian in the summer window if the player himself does feel the need to move on in search of a new challenge as well.
“So look, it’s not an easy deal to do. He’s got three years left on his contract and City did spend big money when they signed him from Frankfurt.”
Villa have Harry Wilson concerns as summer approach rumoured
Wilson has shown some stellar Premier League form this season and is set to leave Fulham this summer when his contract expires.
The Villans have been heavily linked to the Wales star’s services, but his recent dip in performances has plunged a move into doubt.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Villa’s scouts were unimpressed with Wilson when they watched him during Fulham’s defeat to Arsenal last week.
Villa are still believed to be planning a move for Wilson, but want him to prove his quality before the season ends before a concrete approach is made.
