Ossie Ardiles has revealed he is “worried” about the form of Tottenham forward Vincent Janssen following the win against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

Spurs completed a 1-0 victory against the Russian champions on Tuesday night, with Heung-Min Son grabbing the decisive goal in the second-half.

Son, 24, has been in impressive form this season and has now scored five goals in as many appearances.

Janssen was substituted by manager Mauricio Pochettino in the 67th minute after another mediocre performance.

Spurs legend Ardiles explained on his personal Twitter account that he is conerned about the form of the £18million signing from AZ Alkmaar.

“We needed a touch from our strikers and fortunately it happened in a combination (with) Erik Lamela and Son. Worried about Janssen though,” he said.

Janssen, 22, has now scored just one goal in his first nine appearances for the club and has found it difficult to settle at White Hart Lane since his arrival in the summer transfer window.

The striker has led the Spurs attack in the absence of the injured Harry Kane and is yet to rediscover his goal scoring form.

He was the top scorer in the Dutch League last season with a virtual goal-a-game haul of 27 goals in 34 games for AZ Alkmaar.

Janssen has looked impressive in linking up with his team-mates and has acted like a target man.

Pochettino recruited the Dutchman to provide competition for Kane and he will hope Janssen can become more clinical in front of goal.
