Ex-Aston Villa defender Paul McGrath has wished his former club well ahead of their Championship clash with Reading at the weekend.
McGrath took to his personal Twitter account on Saturday morning to issue a message of support to Villa for their upcoming tie, urging them to give another positive display.
He said: “All the best to Aston Villa today, some of the same again lads…all we need is effort and the result will take care of itself.”

Aston Villa were held to a 1-1 draw with relegation candidates Burton Albion last time out, bringing to an end an impressive run of seven wins from eight league matches.
But McGrath, who spent seven seasons at the Midlands club, eased the pressure ahead of the Reading tie by insisting the result would come if they put the effort in.
Villa’s good form has seen them shoot back up the Championship table following a miserable spell that left them lurking precariously near the bottom three.
They are currently 12th, but can move as high as ninth with a win over Reading, who are fifth.
The victory would also leave Steve Bruce’s side within 11 points of the play-offs, ahead of the final four matches of the season.
Aston Villa recorded a 2-1 win over Reading at the Madejski Stadium when the two sides last me in October, and the away side head into the clash on the back of a disastrous 7-1 defeat to Norwich.
In other Aston Villa news, Bruce has issued a challenge to this attacker, stating where he must improve.
