Paul Merson predicts Arsenal v Man City
By Will Butcher
Paul Merson believes Manchester City will secure a comfortable 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Sunday as the two sides go face to face at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger’s side come into the game in a woeful run of form that has seen them lose six of their last nine outings, winning against non-league sides Lincoln and Sutton as well as Hull.
Merson told Sky Sports’ website that City will claim all three points in a match that could prove crucial come the end of the season at the top of the Premier League table.
The former Gunners midfielder believes the Gunners lack of confidence and open defence will see City’s attackers prosper in north London.
“This is a huge game. I only know one thing for sure in this game, it won’t be 0-0. It’s as simple as that,” Merson claimed.

“I think both teams going forward will hurt the other team, similar to City’s game at the Etihad against Liverpool, lots happening and a lot riding on it.
“The way the Gunners are so open and lacking in confidence, you dread to think what the score could be if City go 1-0 up early on.”
Arsenal currently sit way down in sixth place, six points behind Liverpool as Arsenal look increasingly likely to finish outside the top four for the first time in Wenger’s 21-year tenure.
The Gunners will be without Petr Cech, after the Mirror revealed that the former Chelsea stopper would be out for a month due to a calf injury sustained against West Brom.
He joins Santi Cazorla and Lucas Perez in missing the clash, as the north London giants look to avoid a repeat of the reverse fixture in December that saw City triumph 2-1.
In the latest Arsenal news, the Gunners have identified a possible Mesut Ozil replacement for just £13million.
