Paul Merson predicts Tottenham clash against Burnley, delivers top four verdict
By Amir Mir
Paul Merson has backed Tottenham to beat Burnley 2-1 in their Premier League clash at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
Sky Sports pundit Merson also stated that Spurs need to keep winning games if they are to secure a top-four spot at the end of the season.
At this moment in time, the north London club are second in the table, seven points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United who have a game in hand.
Prior to the international break, Mauricio Pochettino guided his team to a tricky 2-1 home win against Southampton without their star striker Harry Kane.
Former Arsenal playmaker Merson has explained how he thinks Tottenham will once again cope without their key player.

“This will be interesting,” Merson told Sky Sports. “Burnley are great at home, and with no Harry Kane it will be a difficult game for Spurs. They give everyone a good game at Turf Moor.
“Spurs need to keep winning to secure a top-four spot. It’s still a hugely important last 10 games for them, and nothing is safe.”
Taking on Burnley away from home and trying to pick up three points will be a tough task for Pochettino’s side.
The reason for this is Sean Dyche has guided his team to a number of good results at home this term, including picking up draw or wins against the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Southampton and Chelsea.
Versatile attacker Son Heung-Min led the line against the Saints last time out with midfielder Dele Alli playing off the South Korean international.
The duo found the back of the net during that game and are more than likely they will continue playing those roles until Kane returns from injury.
In other Tottenham news, this Spurs ace is unsure about a return date with the FA Cup semi-final now a doubt.
