Darren Bent insists that Liverpool winger Harry Wilson would be the “perfect signing” for Leeds United this summer.

The former Tottenham and England striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, claims the current Bournemouth loanee has everything the Whites need if they are promoted this season.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is understood to be a huge fan of the 23-year-old and the club have failed to take him to Elland Road in each of the past two summer windows.

As revealed by Football Insider, Liverpool are open to transfer offers for Wilson this summer and have slashed their £25million valuation by as much as half.

Bent believes the Wales international would be an ideal capture for Leeds this summer, regardless of what division they find themselves playing in next season.

“I really like Harry Wilson, I watched him a lot at Derby and I thought he was brilliant,” Bent told Football Insider.

“He’s done well at Bournemouth on occasions as well. I really like him, I think he’s got everything and if Leeds do get promoted, I think that would be a perfect signing.

“Even if, for whatever reason, they don’t get promoted, I think he’d be a great signing as well so I’d love to see them try to get him then as well because he knows the leagues, he knows what it takes, he’s got very, very good quality.

“I think with that experience he’d be the perfect signing for Leeds, whatever division their in.”

Wilson has scored seven goals and set up a further two for his teammates in 27 appearances this season.

He was a thorn in the side of Leeds last year, scoring and assisting in Derby’s play-off win at Elland Road in May.
