Philippe Coutinho could quit Aston Villa today after journalist's update - expert

Alan Hutton has suggested Philippe Coutinho could be lured away from Aston Villa.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Villa defender said Coutinho has not lived up to the expectations surrounding his move to Villa Park.

According to the Sun‘s Dan King (6 February), Turkish giants Galatasary are interested in signing the 30-year-old on loan until the end of the season before their window shuts today.

The club are believed to also be open to potentially signing him permanently in the summer.

The Brazilian has failed to score or assist this season and is yet to start a Premier League game under Unai Emery.

Them winger’s contract expires in 2026 after signing a permanent deal in the summer.

Hutton suggested a move might be in the best interest of both parties.

He is a flair player,” he told Football Insider.

He came back with high expectations and it has not quite worked out.

We thought Gerrard could get the best of him. We do see it in flashes but is he going to be the go-to guy that is going to score goals and provide assists week in week out? I do not think so.

Under the new manager he has not played that much so I think if there was a deal out there that suited both parties it might be something that they would think about doing.

For himself, he will feel that he wants to give more. But if something came up it could be something that he could be interested in.
