Burnley midfielder Robbie Brady would be a “great signing” for Celtic this summer, according to Kevin Phillips.
The 2000 European Golden Shoe winner, speaking exclusively to Football Insider tipped the 29-year-old to “shine” in the Scottish Premiership if signed by Neil Lennon’s side.
The Scottish Sun report that the Hoops are interested in signing the Republic of Ireland international when his contract expires at Turf Moor at the end of June.
However, the Premier League club hope the winger will sign a new deal, having joined from Norwich City in January 2017.
Phillips believes Brady will be tempted by the prospect of moving to Glasgow.
“I think he would be a clever signing,” he told Football Insider.
“He has a lot of quality so I think he would succeed in the Scottish Premiership. I would expect him to go up there and shine.
“It would be a great signing for Neil Lennon. I am sure he would be tempted by the prospect of playing at Celtic Park, hopefully with fans back next season.
“It would be a smart piece of business but Burnley will want to keep him, which is understandable.
“If Neil Lennon could secure his services it could help start a title challenge next year.”
Brady has 19 appearances across all competitions for the Clarets this season.
However, the left-footer is currently sidelined with an achilles injury he suffered in Wednesday’s score draw with Fulham.
