Phillips drops bold Grealish prediction as footage of Aston Villa captain emerges
Kevin Phillips has tipped Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish to start for England against Germany tomorrow night.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Claret and Blues striker claimed the 25-year-old “offers too much to the side to be dropped”.
Grealish was handed his first start of the Euros in the absence of Mason Mount against Czech Republic and impressed in a 1-0 win.
The attacking midfielder is now in contention to start in Tuesday’s Last 16 tie against Germany at Wembley.
Footage on Harry Kane’s Twitter account showed Grealish training in a small group with Kane, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling on June 26th.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if the video was an early indication of Gareth Southgate’s team selection, Phillips said:

“Grealish has to start. Every pundit, journalist and supporter wants Grealish to start tomorrow night and I think he will.
“He offers too much to the side in terms of creativity, winning fouls and ball retention to be dropped.
“The way he linked up with Saka the other night was wonderful to watch. Something always happens when Grealish is playing.
“Is the video of the four of them doing a shooting drill an indication that they are going to start? From my experience, you cannot read too much into it.
“Southgate is not daft. He will not be giving anything away before the match. I expect Grealish to play though. 100 per cent.”
