Kevin Phillips has claimed Adam Lallana will quit Liverpool to sign for Leicester City this summer.
The former Sunderland and West Brom striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, is in no doubt the 32-year-old will turn rival Premier League clubs for a Brendan Rodgers reunion.
The Mirror claims that five Premier League clubs are chasing the Liverpool midfielder but former Leicester coach Phillips says the club’s £100million new training ground will also be a huge lure.
Lallana is out of contract at the end of June but is expected to sign a short term deal at Anfield until the completion of the 2019/20 campaign.
Phillips suggested the former England international would be a shrewd recruit for many clubs, including West Ham.
“It would be a smart signing but I cannot see it happening,” he told Football Insider.
“I see the kid going to Leicester all day long. Having worked with Brendan Rodgers and their style of play I think he will want to move to Leicester.
“They are also moving to their new £100million training ground in the coming weeks. I see that as a no brainer.
“However, he is the sort of player that West Ham need to look at if they were to lose Declan Rice and Mark Noble, who has been incredible for West Ham, is coming to the twilight of his career.
“They need to be ambitious in their signings.”
Chelsea are believed to be interested in Declan Rice but with four years still left on his contract at the London Stadium, he would not come cheap.
Lallana has made 22 appearances for the Reds this term but has featured predominantly as a substitute.
In other West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that the Hammers have set their sights on Rangers colossus.
