Phillips: Ryan Kent 'unsettled' as new Leeds bid comes in for Rangers star
Kevin Phillips claims Ryan Kent’s poor form may be a result of his head being turned by a potential Rangers exit.
The Sunderland legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest on the winger.
Kent has struggled in the opening six games of the season and was hauled off at half-time of the Light Blues’ 1-0 win over Alashkert last week.
Speaking to Sky Sports on 20 August, Steven Gerrard insisted he would give the winger all the help and time he needs to regain his best form.
A Rangers source has told Football Insider the club are expecting a new bid from Leeds for Kent before Tuesday’s cut-off.
While this has been going on, the Daily Mail claimed Rangers are braced for a new bid from Leeds for Kent before the window closes.

Phillips has speculated Kent may have been unsettled by all of this transfer talk.
“Maybe he’s unsettled,” Phillips told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs.
“He could have had people in his ear telling him he should be going here and there.
“I know that goes on in the background, his agent will be in his ear. All agents are like that.
“Coupled with what’s happened at the start of the season for Rangers, he just needs to focus on his football.
“He needs to find the form he showed last season but he’s not the only one at Rangers.
“Other players look to him when they are struggling, he’s one who can take the team by the scruff of the neck.
“He’s had his head turned and that’s affecting his form.”
Kent has failed to score this season but chipped in with two assists in his six outings.
Gers are next in action in the first Old Firm of the season on Sunday.
