Phillips reveals why Hart is a 'brilliant' signing for Celtic
Kevin Phillips insists new Celtic signing Joe Hart is the key to fixing the club’s set-piece problem.
The Sunderland legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims the Hoops have pulled off a massive coup.
On 3rd August, Celtic announced the signing of Hart on a three-year deal.
The former Man City keeper was thrown straight into Ange Postecoglou’s side to face Jablonec in the Europa League.
Celtic won 4-2 as Hart failed to keep a clean sheet on his debut but he conceded none as his new side beat Dundee at the weekend.
Football Insider revealed on 2 August the 34-year-old will be catapulted into the club’s top earning category.

Last season, Celtic struggled to defend set-pieces and at one point conceded from four dead ball situations in seven games.
Phillips insists Hart can help to fix this key issue.
“I think he’s a brilliant signing considering the influence he will have at the club,” Phillips told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“Time will tell if he still has that influence on the pitch in terms of set-pieces.
“My only concern would be that goalkeepers tend to stay on their line a bit more when they are older.
“They don’t want to come out and make mistakes but Joe is a very confident keeper.
“He has the qualities to shine up there and he won’t be tested as much while playing for Celtic.
“Teams won’t dominate and create loads of chances. It’s a clever move and it’s a good move.
“The players will look up to him and we could be talking about Hart in a few weeks asking, where he’s been this whole time?”
