Phillips predicts Roberts summer transfer saga after new Leeds offer snubbed
Kevin Phillips would not be surprised if Tyler Roberts left Leeds United on loan or permanently this summer.
The Sunderland legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims the attacker will leave Elland Road if he isn’t guaranteed game time.
Last week, Football Insider revealed Newcastle are keeping tabs on Roberts’ situation with his Leeds contract set to expire next summer.
It is understood his future is up in the air after snubbing a fresh contract offer from the Yorkshire giants.
Roberts, 22, bagged his first Premier League goal against Southampton on Wednesday.
He has 14 top flight starts to his name but has been mainly used as a substitute by Marcelo Bielsa this season.

Phillips claims Roberts now has the taste for regular football and will leave Leeds to get it if he has to.
“I want to see young players playing,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.
“I’ve said that all along. He’s had some minutes this year but when you’ve had that, you want to be playing first team football.
“Once you’ve had that taste. If you aren’t guaranteed that at your club then you want to go somewhere else.
“Naturally, when know you can perform at the Premier League level you want to play every week and develop.
“That’s one we’ll be reading about over summer whether he goes out on loan or whatever. Him going would not be a surprise.”
Roberts played in each of Leeds’ last 16 league games as the club targetted a strong finish.
He joined Leeds from West Brom in 2018.
