After only being able to play the midfield in two league games this season, Spurs sit sixth with 28 points.
Tottenham are two points behind Liverpool in the Champions League qualification places and 18 points off league leaders Manchester City.
Spurs have only won one of their last five games, with their victory coming in their last outing against Stoke City.
Despite disappointment in the league, Tottenham have been successful in the Champions League.
Spurs topped their group and achieved memorable victories against both Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team are set to play Juventus in the knockout stage of the competition and Danny Murphy believes the club need Wanyama fit for the clash if they want to progress.
