Fiorentina have completed the signing of Cristian Tello from Barcelona on a season-long loan.

Marca have posted on their Twitter page confirmation that Tello has joined Fiorentina with the image of him holding his new number 27 shirt.

Italian website Calico Mercato claimed in July that Tello had been the subject of interest from Tottenham and that talks were held with the Londoners last month.

The 24-year-old spent the second half of last season at La Viola, making 15 appearances for manager Paulo Sousa and scored two goals.

He has also had a loan spell with Porto, where he scored 10 goals in 57 matches.

Tello had a promising start to his Barcelona career but it never fully blossomed into an extended spell in the team for the Spanish champions.

Spurs have only added Victor Wanyama and forward Vicent Janssen to his squad and could be keen to add some fresh faces in the remainder of the window.

Janssen joined Tottenham for £18million from AZ Alkmaar earlier in the summer after lighting up the Eredivisie last season.

Mauricio Pochettino may have missed out on Tello but his current midfielder Erik Lamela made a big impact in their draw against Everton, and has received praise on Twitter from the club’s supporters.

In other Tottenham transfer news, the club’s target is set to fly into London to join rivals for 13million.
