Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Frank McAvennie has claimed Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang's Chelsea wages are the "biggest crime of the century".

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker urged Aubameyang to show the fans that he cares about the club.

As relayed by the Mirror (1 October), the 33-year-old is making £160,000 per-week at Stamford Bridge and is one of the top ten earners at the club despite only joining in the summer.

The striker has made 11 Premier League appearances for the Blues and has scored just one goal in those outings.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (11 January), Barcelona would love to bring the Gabon international back to the Camp Nou but only on a completely free transfer.

Due to FIFA rules the forward is unable to play for any club other than Barcelona and Chelsea this season.

McAvennie suggested Aubameyang's time at Arsenal may be up.

"I think they have got to get rid of Aubameyang," he told Football Insider.

"He is on a fortune and doing nothing. If it was a crime that would be the biggest crime of the century.

"He is doing nothing and the fans must be pulling their hair out. He is a decent player he is just doing nothing for the club.

"At least show the fans that you have got a little bit about you and you care about the club but I do not see it."
