Two Tottenham deadline day striker bids on the table, one is over £20m - report
By Danny Wright
Tottenham have received a £23million bid from Premier League rivals West Brom for striker Vincent Janssen, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claimed in their live transfer blog on Thursday [09:59am] that the Baggies had stumped up a club record offer for Janssen, 23, on deadline day, which surpasses their current biggest spend of £15million on Oliver Burke made last week.
It is understood that Tottenham have also had a bid accepted for Swansea striker Fernando Llorente, which could open the door for Janssen to leave Wembley having only signed for the London club from AZ Alkmaar last summer for £17million.
The Dutch attacker has scored just six goals in 39 total appearances for Spurs and although most of his game time has come from off the bench, when called up to start in place of Harry Kane, the forward has generally been unable to find form.
West Brom currently have limited striker options of their own with goal-shy Salomon Rondon, summer signing Jay Rodriguez and the suspended Hal Robson-Kane in their squad.

Football Insider Verdict
West Brom have surprisingly accumulated one of the biggest net spends in the Premier League this summer which suggests that their bid for Janssen may only be on the table if they can ship out some of their wanted men. Jonny Evans and ex-Spurs ace Nacer Chadli have been widely linked with moves away from the Hawthorns this summer and should they decided to cash in on the attacking midfield, the bid for Janssen could very much become active. The Dutchman has had a poor first year in England but that is perhaps down to his lack of game time. Playing regularly for a team like West Brom could suit him a lot more.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs have also jetted out to hold separate rounds of talks with this Champions League striker.
