Bournemouth could make a bid for Dundee centre-back Jack Hendry with the coming days as a potential transfer battle with Celtic could be on the horizon, according to a report.
The Daily Star is claiming that the Premier League side could make an offer for the 22-year-old this week.
It is understood that Celtic are keen on Hendry, with the Dark Blues wanting £1.5million for the player, a price which so far the Bhoys have been unwilling to match so far.
The stylish defender, known for his ball-playing abilities, missed Dundee’s Scottish Cup match against Inverness on Saturday but this was due to illness and not his head being turned by the rumours surrounding his future.
Football Insider verdict
When it comes to putting money on the table for Hendry, Bournemouth will have more to offer the player due to the fact that they play in England, even though Celtic are a much bigger club. Dundee won’t be fussed who the player joins as long as the money’s right, so the player himself will need to make a decision between the Premier League, and the Champions League. The Hoops may of course turn their attention to other targets this month but it seems like Bournemouth will both Dundee and Hendry more money than the Hoops will be able to, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see the player moving down south before the end of the month.
