Leicester ace Demarai Gray delivered a strong performance for England’s Under-21s on Tuesday evening – and Tottenham supporters on Twitter were impressed by his performance.

The Mirror reported earlier in June that Spurs are eyeing a move for the 20-year-old and that manager Mauricio Pochettino is a long-term admirer.

It is understood that he has a £22million release clause which could be enough to deter Spurs.

The north London club are yet to bring in any summer recruits to their squad, but their fans believe that Gray would be an excellent addition.

He started for Aidy Bothroyd’s young Lions on Tuesday as they suffered a cruel 4-3 penalty defeat to rivals Germany in the European Championships semi-final.

The two teams were 2-2 after extra time and Gray made his impact by scoring an important first-half goal with a volley inside the penalty area.

Spurs fans have urged their side to move for the Foxes winger after his display and feel he would be a good fit under Pochettino.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Gray moved to the King Power Stadium in 2016 and picked up a Premier League winners medal during his first season at Leicester.

The pacy wide man played an important role last season for the Foxes and made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and supplying five assists.

However, he had to make do with several substitute roles, with Marc Alrbrighton and Riyad Mahrez the preferred options in the wide areas.

In other Tottenham transfer news, they have submitted a five-year contract for an attacker.
