Poch reveals details on 'animated' conversation with Rose in Tottenham Tuesday training
One journalist noticed something he thought was odd during Tottenham’s Tuesday training session ahead of the Champions League clash with Juventus.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino took Danny Rose away from the group of players and had a passionate one-to-one in front of the gathered journalists.
It led to lots of speculation from Spurs fans, with some saying it meant he wouldn’t be starting on Wednesday – and some thinking the exact opposite.
Alasdair Gold, a journalist from Football.London, spotted the incident and asked Pochettino about in in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday lunchtime.
Pochettino said it was a “coincidence” that it happened in front of the journalists and that it was animated.
He said it was that way because he feels passionately about football.

Poch on that Danny Rose conversation: "It was a private conversation. It was a coincidence that you saw me. It’s something I do with my players. It was animated, yes, because we are passionate. We are people who feel passion for football." https://t.co/csLPfQMGEm

Football Insider verdict:
It was fascinating to hear Pochettino’s take on the conversation, and whatever Tottenham fans might say about it being a conspiracy theory created by journalists, it was unusual to take one player aside in an open training session. Pochettino has said it was a coincidence that it happened in front of the journalists, which suggests that it was spontaneous. We might never get to the bottom of what they were talking about, but the line-up tomorrow will give us a huge clue.
