Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Erik Lamela has picked up a hip injury during training ahead of Tottenham’s match against Bayer Leverkusen.
The Argentina international was expected to start for the north London outfit against their Group E rivals, but could now be set to miss the Champions League clash.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday night’s all-important match, Pochettino revealed that he is unsure if the former Roma winger will take part against the Bundesliga side.
“Erik Lamela had a problem with his hip during training today and we are not sure if he will be involved tomorrow,” Pochettino said, as quoted by Tottenham’s official Twitter account.

Lamela has been added to a growing list of injury concerns, with Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane also fighting to be fit to face Leverkusen.
The 24-year-old has been one of the first names on the Tottenham team sheet this season, scoring two goals in 14 league and cup appearances as well as supplying seven goals in assists.
Former Southampton boss Pochettino will be hoping to have all of his stars to choose from as he looks to secure Spurs’ passage into the knockout phase of the Champions League.
Three points against Roger Schmidt’s side will move them to the top of Group E if Monaco drop points against CSKA Moscow, and to within touching distance of the last 16.
