Pochettino delivers injury update on defender duo ahead of Sunderland clash
By Harvey Byrne
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that both Kieran Trippier and Jan Vertonghen will be out of the clash against Sunderland.
The north London club are preparing to travel to the north east of England to face the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday evening.
However, Pochettino has told reporters before the match that they will be without both Vertonghen and Trippier due to injuries.
The former has missed his side’s last two matches after suffering an injury against West Brom earlier in the month.
Meanwhile, the Englishman was forced off the pitch in Saturday’s victory against Wycombe, leaving his side to close the match with just 10 men on the pitch.

Vertonghen, 29, has been a star of the Spurs back four and has played in 25 encounters in total for his side this campaign.
Meanwhile, Trippier, 26, has been a bit more of a squad player with Kyle Walker cementing the right-back slot as his own.
But, he has still contributed in 10 fixtures this season and fans will be hoping the defensive duo make a fast recovery back to the team.
In other Tottenham team news, Pochettino also gave a fitness update on this key trio.
