Pochettino delivers worrying Kane injury update ahead of Tottenham clash v Real Madrid
By Danny Wright
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Harry Kane may not be fit to return to action against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
Kane, 24, missed his first Premier League game of the season on Saturday in Spurs’ 1-0 loss to Manchester United due to a leg injury.
The England international’s setback didn’t seem that serious ahead of kick-off, with the suggestion being that he would be back to action straight away after missing the Old Trafford game.
However following the defeat to Jose Mourinho’s United, Pochettino revealed that Kane is facing further assessment over the next few days.
“We’ll see in the next few days and take a decision,” said Pochettino on Kane’s situation, as quoted by Football.London.

Kane has been in the form of his life for Tottenham in the past few months, scoring 13 goals in 12 appearances across all competitions.
He forced an own goal from Rafael Varane in the 1-1 draw at Real Madrid earlier this month and he would be a massive miss at Wembley next week should be miss the home clash against Los Blancos.
Spurs are well placed to qualify for the knock-out rounds from their Champions League group this year after wins against Borussia Dortmund and APOEL before their draw at the Bernabeu.
With Kane in action, there’s potential that the London side could get a win against Madrid on Wednesday night and make an effort to top their group.
In other Tottenham news, Toby Alderweireld made a questionable claim about Spurs following the defeat to West Ham in midweek.
