Pochettino delivers Tottenham boost: Club-record signing heading to London next week

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he expects Erik Lamela to return to London at the end of next week after working on his fitness in Italy.
Spurs’ club record signing has been sidelined for nearly three months with a hip problem that has proved more complicated than initially expected.
The Argentine has spent time in Rome working on his rehabilitation with both his former team’s physios and a member of Spurs’ own medical staff.
Pochettino delivered an update on Lamela’s condition at his weekly press briefing as he revealed the player is heading back to Tottenham’s Enfield headquarters.
“Every day we have information, he is doing well but we cannot push too much because it’s about time for him to recover,” said Pochettino, as quoted by the official Tottenham website.

“Our idea is maybe (he will spend) one week more there and then (he’ll come) back to London so we can see which level (he is at) and start to build his fitness for him to try to help the team as soon as possible. It’s difficult to say (when he will be back), I don’t want to guess again.”
Lamela was a £30million club-record signing from Roma in the summer of 2013 and, after two difficult seasons, emerged as significant player in Pochettino’s side in 2015-16.
The 24-year-old was a regular starter in the opening two months of this campaign, starting 10 of his 14 matches and scoring two goals and supplying an impressive seven assists.
The Argentina international’s last match was on 25 October, when Spurs lost 2-1 to Liverpool in the League Cup.
