Pontus Jansson delivers verdict on Leeds v Rotherham, admits PL ambition
By Amir Mir
Pontus Jansson has backed Leeds to continue their good form and pick up three points against Rotherham on Monday afternoon in their bid to reach the Premier League.
On-loan Torino defender Jansson scored for the Whites in their 1-1 draw at Aston Villa on Thursday evening.
It was the second time the Swede has found the back of the net for the Elland Road club having previously scored against Norwich at Carrow Road earlier on in the campaign.
Garry Monk’s side currently occupy a play-off spot and they will be looking to maintain that top six place when they take on their Yorkshire rivals.
Prior to the game, Jansson offered his thoughts on the match and explained the importance of picking up a point at Villa Park.

“We are happy we are in a good position in the table, we want to go to the Premier League and currently we are in the play-offs,” Jansson told the club’s official website.
“We have Rotherham in the next game, we have to keep going and put all of our focus into that game.
“If we can get the three points against Rotherham on Monday, then a point at Aston Villa isn’t too bad.
“We are strong at Elland Road, hopefully it will be a good game, hopefully the stadium will be full, we are strong with the fans and we really need them.”
Jansson has become a popular figure since joining Monk’s side in the summer with his passionate and hard-hitting style winning over the supporters.
The 25-year-old has played 18 Championship games for the club, helping his side pick up wins against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich and Aston Villa this term.
The Yorkshire club have not tasted top-flight football in over 12 years but their form this season looks good enough for a top-six finish.
They have won 13 of their 24 games this season, picking up 42 points, a point behind third-placed Reading and nine points behinds the automatic places.
