Pontus Jansson: This Leeds summer signing reminds me of £31m Man United ace

Leeds centre-back Pontus Jansson believes that summer signing Matthew Pennington has many similarities to Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof.
Jansson, 26, is yet to play alongside the Everton loanee this season after he suffered an injury in the opening day of the Championship season at Bolton.
However that hasn’t stopped him from comparing him to Jansson’s fellow Sweden international, who was also signed up by Man United earlier this summer.
“Matthew is good and when I see him he is a bit of Victor Lindelöf who is at Manchester United,” said Jansson, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post. “I play with him in the national team. “They are quite similar in how they play, quite fast, good with the ball and defensively also really good. He is going to be good for us.”
Lindelof, 23, signed for United from Benfica earlier this summer but failed to feature in the squad for their opening clash of the Premier League season against West Ham on Sunday.

Man United’s newest defensive ace cost them £31million, but he seems to have already lost his place in Jose Mourinho’s plans after failing to stop Real Madrid from winning the UEFA Super Cup this month.
Leeds have found it tough to field a full strength defence at the start of this season.
Jansson missed the first two fixtures through suspension and since then both Pennington and Liam Cooper have picked up injuries which has forced youngster Conor Shaugnessey to play out of his natural position at centre-back.
It is yet to be confirmed how long Pennington and Cooper will be sidelined for.
In other Leeds news, the Whites have offered this forward to one of their league rivals.
